WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED?

While I don’t strictly adhere to a recipe, I do maintain a rough ratio of ingredients: 1 handful of turmeric, 1 handful of ginger, 1 lemon, 1 orange, 1 whole carrot or small pineapple, 1 pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 small green chili, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch of black pepper, 1 pinch of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. If the mixture is too spicy, I add honey to adjust the taste.

HOW TO MAKE THE IMMUNE BOOSTER SHOTS

You have two options for preparing this recipe: you can either use a slow juicer or blend the ingredients and strain the mixture using a cheesecloth. We prefer using a slow juicer to preserve the enzymes and for the convenience it offers.

Additionally, I recommend using small glass jars. Mine are about 30ml (approximately 1oz). If you’d like to enjoy this more as a juice rather than a shot, you can use larger jars and add more water and fruit to dilute it.

  1. Begin by thoroughly washing the ingredients, ensuring to scrub the turmeric and ginger clean. I find using baking soda effective for washing vegetables, but you can also opt for an organic vegetable cleanser.
  2. Peel the lemon and orange.
  3. Alternate adding the ginger, turmeric, lemon, and orange into the juicer. Additionally, include either a carrot, pineapple, or spinach based on your flavor preference.
  4. Combine the chilis, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and honey in the juicer.
  5. Strain the juice to eliminate any excess pulp or flesh.
  6. Transfer the juice into glass containers for storage.

STORING THE IMMUNE BOOSTER SHOT

These shots will maintain their freshness for up to 3 days when stored in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. We strongly advise using glass or BPA-free plastic containers for storage.
